A Spontaneous Book Haul

This week I’ve been in a ‘treat yourself’ mood, so I have splurged on a few purchases including a mini book haul! These are books that have been on my radar for a while and some that we’re so cheap that I couldn’t resist.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Lianne Moriarty – This was a pure impulse buy as it was only £2.99 and recently I’ve been craving a good-old murder mystery. I really enjoyed the Big Little Lies adaptation so if it’s anything like that then I know I’m going to devour it.

Dune by Frank Herbert – I need something to fill the sci-fi void in my heart and I think this book will do just the trick. With the all-star film adaptation being released later year, I want to make sure I read it before then so join in with all the hype and excitement. All the concept art is also making me super excited as well as the cast list which includes Oscar Isaac, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and more!

Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion – This is our Reading Between the Wines book club’s book for the month of February and is a collection of essays by the wonderful Joan Didion. This is one of her most praised pieces so I really hope that it lives up to all my high expectations.

Thundercloud by Neal Shusterman – I recently finished the first book in this series and fell utterly in love with the entire concept of scythes and its characters, plus there’s no way I wasn’t going to instantly buy the second book after that ending!

The Toll by Neal Shusterman – I’ve learnt my lesson and I know that if the second book is anything like the first then I’m going to need the final book in my hands ASAP!
