I managed to read ZERO books in August and I’m okay with that. August is usually one of my best months for reading but this year it’s been a chaotic month filled with all-sorts of surprises and thankfully from this mess I’ve managed to find this sudden burst of motivation to start sorting things out!
What this past month has taught me is that I’m ready to move on to bigger and better things, so I’m putting my best foot forward by channelling all of my energy into achieving this change. The dream like many others is to one day work in publishing, so keep an eye out for more themed posts and discussions.
I’ve also come to the conclusion that I need a ‘thing’ or a ‘passion project’ as my mother likes to call it. Growing up everyone had that ‘thing’ they were known for or good at, and as much as I tried I was just average and never found that something I was truly successful at. So I’m making it my mission in finding my ‘thing’ by the end of the year, whether it be design, writing, or something complete different!
Anyway, my TBR for September is a little loose as I want a range of books to choose from because I’ve got no idea what I’m in the mood for? So please enjoy this chaotic and random TRB plan for September!
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou – This is our book of the month for September and I’m really excited to read it as I feel like its one of those books that everyone needs to read in their life time!
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi – This has been of my TBR for a while now and I’m starting to feel like the only person who hasn’t read this book yet! I know I’m missing out so hopefully September will finally be the month I start it!
Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert – I keep seeing this book everywhere and it just looks so cute and lovely! I’m really in the mood recently for some heart-warming and fluffy contemporary reads and from reading all the reviews, it looks like its a book that I’m going to easily fall in love with.
The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson – I saw some fan art of these characters and I instantly fell in love! I remember this book being all the rage years and years ago, and from reading the synopsis it looks like another series that I’m going to devour!
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller – Another book that I wanted to read last month but didn’t get the chance to. I’m a sucker for anything about Greek Mythology and I’ve got high hopes for this book after falling head over heels for her book Circe last year.
