I Should Have Read That Book Tag

I’m notorious for having huge TBR piles and endless lists of recommendations so this book tag is perfect for me! Thank you to Erin over at KittyJadeBlog for tagging me in this book tag, it’s been ages since I’ve done one! I tag anyone else like me, who has an endless TBR and an Amazon basket that is filled to the brim! If you’ve done this tag or are planning to then please either tag me or leave a link in the comments, as I always love reading other people’s answers!

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

More Joan Didion! I studied Didion at university and fell utterly in love with her writing style and with just how fabulous she is!

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t read it

Recently I’ve been really good and have been going through loads of books and series on my TBR pile, I don’t want to toot my own horn but I’m smashing it! However, my TBR pile is still huge, and both And I Darken by Kiersten White or Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson have been on that list forever. They’re both currently sitting patiently in my Amazon basket, so maybe next month I might treat myself!

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten around to finishing

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard! After I’ve finished the Raven Boys, I’ve decided that I’m going to re-read the entire series and finally finish it! It’s been YEARS since I picked up a book in this series and I remember clearly loving it!

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but have never actually read

War and Peace or Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I’m obsessed with their book adaptations and one day I hope to read both of them, there’s just something wonderful about the Russian high society.

A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Children of Blood and Bone by Tommy Adeyemi or Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. Another two books that have been sitting in my Amazon basket for months! I’ve heard nothing but good things about these books and my plan is to read them both in August (my TBR for July is HUGE!).

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but just haven’t picked up yet

The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski. Another book adaptation that I fell utterly in love with, I’m eager to discover more of Sapkowski’s world and what adventures he has in store for his characters. If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t yet watched the show on Netflix, then I highly recommend that you drop everything now and dive in!

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

Instagram is worse than Goodreads when it comes to book recommendations, there are so many stunning covers, cosplays, and bookstagram posts that keep tempting me! The top three I keep seeing are Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin, All The Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace, and The Bone Crier’s Moon by Kathryn Purdie! All three of them sound amazing and have earned themselves a place in my over-flowing Amazon basket! Plus how gorgeous are those covers!

  1. You’re more than welcome for the tag! I really enjoyed reading your take on this one. I have stopped making monthly TBRs but in July, since I will no longer be attending classes (even though they’re online) I can pull a few 24 hour readathons! Recently I’ve fallen into a slump with reading since my library isn’t open and I can’t get physical copies of books. eBooks just don’t possess that book ‘magic’ for me. However I’m still appreciative of them. Guess we’ll both be reading a lot in July! Good luck! x
