Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?
I can’t contain my excitement for Leigh Bardugo’s King of Scars which focuses one of my favorite characters from the Grisha universe, the young and mysterious Nikolai Lantsov! I loved him in the Shadow and Bone trilogy so the fact that he’s got an entire book dedicated to him is a dream come true! I’m also really excited to read Again but Better by Christine Riccio which many of you may know from Booktube.
Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing their praises?
Sarah J Maas! I’d honestly read her shopping list, she’s just so good at creating these captivating worlds and characters that you can’t help but love. I haven’t read Kingdom of Ash yet, so my opinion may quickly change if it doesn’t end the way I want it too!
Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has a wonderful world building?
Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo both books that have worlds I just love delving into! They’re both just so creative and magical as well as being the perfect escape for any reader.
A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read
One of my challenging reading goals next year is to make a start on Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. I fell utterly in love with the BBC adaptation a couple of years ago, and a while ago I picked up a beautiful copy of it at a market for only £1! Clearly its a sign that I need to start reading it.
Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas
I already know a few books that I’m getting for Christmas but there’s a few my family want to leave for a surprise! One book I’d love to see under my tree is Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare, so fingers crossed my family has picked up on some of my not so subtle hints.
Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is just one of those books (and films) that will warm your heart with just how lovely and sweet it is!
Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?
I’ve already done a post with a list of my favourite book covers of 2018 which I will link here, but some of my favourite covers ever have to be the Penguin classic’s book covers that have been designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith! All of them are stunning and the dream is to one day have them all.
Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?
Aside from the food and spending time with all my family, my favourite thing about Christmas is giving gifts and watching peoples reactions. I had my Christmas at university last weekend and I got my friend who is utterly in love with Jeremy Corbyn a mini cut out of him, something that no one expected and that had us all laughing throughout the entire day.
