Christmas Cracker Book Tag – 12 Days of Blogmas

I thought I’d attempt Blogmas again this year as I haven’t posted much recently and I wanted something to keep me busy for when I go back home for Christmas! Plus one of my new year’s resolutions is to post something at least every week next year, so hopefully, this will encourage me to post more! I’m going to be doing 12 days of Blogmas which means from now until the 24th December I will be posting something whether it be a book/film review, book tag or a feature of some sort every day till then! So what better way is there to start Blogmas than with a Christmassy book tag! Let me know in the comments if you’ve done this tag, I always love reading other people’s answers!

Pick a book with a wintry cover

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch has such a gorgeous wintry cover with snow and everything! Although its not a Christmassy novel it is a really fun fantasy read that I started a couple of years ago and want to finish! I remember it having an interesting bunch of characters, some good fight scenes and that it was a quick and easy read. I’ve left far too many series unread so another aim next year is to get them all completed before I start any new ones.

Pick a book you’re likely to buy as a present

This is one of those cases when I’ll buy a book for my sister but in reality, it’s really a book for me! Both of us love Cassandra Clare especially her Lady Midnight series and even went to her signing in Birmingham a couple of years ago together. So, I’d probably buy her new book Queen of Air and Darkness but I can already see us fighting over who would read it first!

Pick a festive themed book

One of my favourites to read at this time of year is Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares. This is such an adorable and festive read that will certainly warm your heart! I can totally relate to Lily and the joy she finds out of the festive season and the fact that it’s set in New York at Christmas makes this book even better! This is the perfect easy read to pick up and curl up on the sofa with on a cold winters day!

Pick a book you can curl up with by the fireplace

One of my favourite reads of the year was the Night Circus, I just fell absolutely in love with the entire storyline and the circus itself! This book is filled with so much magic, romance, and adventure, and I can’t stop recommending it to everyone.

Pick a book you want to read over the festive period

Again not really a festive book but Kingdom of Ash as I still haven’t read it, and it’s becoming more and more difficult to avoid spoilers. I really hope this book doesn’t ruin my Christmas like the final episode of the BBC show Merlin did (if you’ve watched the show then you know what I mean). Plus I love these characters so much and they all deserve a happy ending!

Pick a book that’s so good it gives you chills

This summer I started reading Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series, and I’m well and truly hooked! I love everything about this series, and it definitely earned a place in my top 5 favourite series ever.

Pick a book going on your Christmas wishlist

I already know Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas is under our Christmas tree with my name on it but I’ve also asked for the Crimes of Grindlewald Screenplay. I haven’t seen the film yet and knowing my luck it won’t be in cinema’s when I finally have time to see it, so I thought I’d read the screenplay instead! Plus that cover is just stunning!
